Furnace Maintenance

Regular furnace maintenance in Minneapolis saves you money on energy bills by improving the efficiency and extending the life of your home heating system.

You can do some of the furnace tune up tasks yourself to extend the life of your furnace and help it be as energy efficient as possible. For example, changing the filter and making sure the thermostat is working. However, for the internal areas of the furnace, you need to hire a professional technician.

What is included in a furnace maintenance checklist by Welter Heating?

  • Clean all hoses and filters
  • Clean the furnace cabinet
  • Clean the blower compartment
  • Run and test the system through three cycles

Benefits of Annual Furnace Maintenance

Having an annual furnace maintenance plan is as important as getting your car regularly serviced. Your care needs regular oil changes; your heating system deserves the same kind attention. An annual check-up keeps your system performing well for longer. It also keeps more serious malfunctions from happening that could be expensive to fix later on.

Regular furnace maintenance has several benefits, including:
Reduced Heating Bills
: In winter months, heating often accounts for a significant portion of your utility expenses. A well-maintained furnace operates more efficiently, using less energy to produce the same level of warmth, which means lower energy bills without sacrificing your comfort.

Environmental Benefits: Using less energy isn’t just good for your wallet; it’s great for the planet too. Reducing fuel consumption means less greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a healthier, more sustainable environment for future generations.

Longer Furnace Life: Regular maintenance can extend the life of your furnace beyond the average lifespan, which translates to cost savings as you may delay the need for a new furnace installation.

Fewer Emergency Repairs: Regular inspections and maintenance allow technicians to identify and address minor issues before they escalate into major, costly repairs, especially during the peak of winter.

Enhanced Safety: Because furnaces have a combustion chamber, they carry certain risks such as gas leaks and carbon monoxide exposure. Routine maintenance ensures safe operation and gives you peace of mind that your system is functioning correctly.

Maintaining Your Warranty: Many furnace warranties require regular maintenance as a condition of the agreement. Neglecting these maintenance checks could void your warranty, potentially leading to more expensive repairs in the future if issues arise.

Hear From Our Customers

These guys were my second call when my furnace stopped working properly. The first company I used sent a tech out who said the furnace needed to be replaced, and gave me a quote, but said he "jiggled a wire" and got it running again for the time being.

When it went out again the other day, I called Ray N. Welter. Their tech, Ralph, fixed the problem in half an hour. He told me the furnace is pretty old, but his fix should get me through the winter "and maybe a couple more," and then gave me a quote that was lower than the first company.

These guys are rad.

Furnace stopped working. When that happens after hours you learn a lot about companies. Today I called RW and got a person on the phone that knows about furnaces and he dispatched a service person Phil within 2 hours. I called them based on personal refer and reviews. They are excellent. Despite having a very old furnace it was the second time that this company said I did not need to replace. If I did replace it I want a Trane and RW would do to the work. For now I will call them for fall/spring tune ups and love that they don't have the club memberships etc. Just good solid customer service for all customers. A really ++ experience. Family run business with integrity.

If you need superior service this is your company!!! We were in Florida experiencing our first year as "snowbirds" when our furnace (in Bloomington) stopped working. Rick Welter personally took our call and not only sent a technician to our cold home, but checked on it for the next two days until our new heating unit could be properly installed. Phenomenal service!

In addition to the great service, their pricing was very competitive. I highly recommend this company for all of your heating or A/C needs!!!
