Meet Our New Gas Furnaces
Trane S9V2 Gas Furnace
Top Benefits:
- High efficiency. An out of date furnace can have a fuel efficiency that ranges between 55% and 70%. Compare this to the S9V2, with an efficiency rate of 96%, and it’s clear that newer is better. Less energy waste means lower heating bills throughout winter.
- Noise reduction technology. The S9V2 is equipped with a specially designed, patented variable speed blower and variable speed draft inducer. This innovation, called the Vortica™II, allows for this furnace to do its job without making disruptive HVAC noises like knocking, hissing, and more.
- Comfort-R™ enhanced dehumidification. Comfort-R™ is a new, proprietary process included in some of the latest Trane model speed blowers. It allows for advanced humidity control, which gives you the opportunity to maximize dehumidification based on you and your home’s specific needs and characteristics.
Price Range: Between $4,500 – $5,800 including installation. Installation may vary depending on the size of your home, location, and more. Utility rebates may apply.
Efficiency Rating: The S9V2 is Energy Star qualified due to its 96% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating.
Bottom Line: The Trane S9V2 Gas Furnace is ideal for people who consider efficiency to be a top priority. It delivers the heating power you need with additional features making it quieter and more energy friendly than past comparable models.
Trane S9X1 Gas Furnace
Top Benefits:
- Long-lasting reliability. The materials that go into the construction of the S9X1 Gas Furnace go through rigorous testing. This testing ensures that the unit can stand up to the test of time as well as regular wear and tear.
- Single stage operation. Single stage operation means that your heater is always working to keep you comfortably warm. It doesn’t provide as much flexibility as two-stage or modulating furnaces, but makes up for that with a reduced price tag.
- High efficiency. This unit’s high efficiency comes from two things. First, it’s Energy Star qualification thanks to it’s high fuel saving rating. Second, because of it’s electronically commutated motor (ECM) that allows for quiet, efficient operation. Together, they bring your heating costs down by using less fuel and, when it does use fuel, doing so in a selective and strategic manner.
Price Range: Between $3,800 – $4,800 including installation. Installation may vary depending on the size of your home, location, and more. Utility rebates may apply.
Efficiency Rating: The S9XI is Energy Star qualified due to its 96% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating.
Bottom Line: The S9XI Gas Furnace is for people who want a higher efficiency furnace but aren’t yet ready to commit to the very tippy top of the line. It’s reliable, functional, durable, and — most importantly — will keep you warm.
Trane S8X2 Gas Furnace
Top Benefits:
- Flexible heating capabilities. The S8X2 Gas Furnace uses a two-stage heating design. This means that it can switch between high and low heat output for consistent, customizable temperature. It keeps the furnace from constantly stopping and starting, making it more efficient than a single-stage counterpart.
- Quiet operation. A single-stage furnace has to stop and start frequently, which is the main source of furnace operation noise. When a furnace using two-stage heating like the S8X2, there are less frequent starts and stops, in turn making it a quieter unit.
- Durability. When you buy a new gas furnace, you want it to last you for many years. That’s nearly a guarantee when you purchase an S8X2. All pieces of construction are tested thoroughly to ensure they live up to the high standards of efficiency and reliability that Trane requires.
Price Range: Between $3,800 – $4,600 including installation. Installation may vary depending on the size of your home, location, and more. Utility rebates may apply.
Efficiency Rating: The S8X2 has an 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating.
Bottom Line: The S8X2 offers advanced flexibility without becoming too complicated or difficult to use. Great if you’re in between wanting something more classic and affordable.
Trane S8X1 Gas Furnace
Top Benefits:
- Price. Of all the latest and greatest Trane furnace additions to Welter Heating’s catalogue, the S8X1 Gas Furnace comes at the lowest price point. There are some sacrifices that come with this lower price, but it’s still an advanced, well-made, and effective furnace. Perfect for families that need an upgrade but aren’t as keen on a bigger investment.
- Advanced air filtration. The Trane S8X1 is compatible with the Trane CleanEffects advanced air filtration system. This system helps remove dust, pollen and other irritants from the air. You can be comforted by the fact that your home’s air won’t only be warmed by this furnace, but cleaned as well.
- Long-lasting design. Any materials that go into the making of a Trane furnace go through rigorous testing. These tests ensure that each panel and part are guaranteed to be long-lasting and reliable for years to come.
Price Range: Between $3,500 – $3,800 including installation. Installation may vary depending on the size of your home, location, and more. Utility rebates may apply.
Efficiency Rating: The S8X1 has an 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating.
Bottom Line: Efficient, affordable, reliable. The S8XI gas furnace is a durable, tried and true gas furnace that will give you exactly what you expect at exactly the price you’re looking for.

These guys were my second call when my furnace stopped working properly. The first company I used sent a tech out who said the furnace needed to be replaced, and gave me a quote, but said he "jiggled a wire" and got it running again for the time being.
When it went out again the other day, I called Ray N. Welter. Their tech, Ralph, fixed the problem in half an hour. He told me the furnace is pretty old, but his fix should get me through the winter "and maybe a couple more," and then gave me a quote that was lower than the first company.
These guys are rad.

Furnace stopped working. When that happens after hours you learn a lot about companies. Today I called RW and got a person on the phone that knows about furnaces and he dispatched a service person Phil within 2 hours. I called them based on personal refer and reviews. They are excellent. Despite having a very old furnace it was the second time that this company said I did not need to replace. If I did replace it I want a Trane and RW would do to the work. For now I will call them for fall/spring tune ups and love that they don't have the club memberships etc. Just good solid customer service for all customers. A really ++ experience. Family run business with integrity.

If you need superior service this is your company!!! We were in Florida experiencing our first year as "snowbirds" when our furnace (in Bloomington) stopped working. Rick Welter personally took our call and not only sent a technician to our cold home, but checked on it for the next two days until our new heating unit could be properly installed. Phenomenal service!
In addition to the great service, their pricing was very competitive. I highly recommend this company for all of your heating or A/C needs!!!
