On your marks, get set, GO!  May and June are two of the busiest months of the year in Minnesota.  Even if you’re not preparing your home for a graduation party, summer vacation is just around the corner and the family will enjoy something to do together. Consider planning a staycation!

For the comfort of your stay, iron out any possible Minneapolis air conditioning problems with a service call and avoid the hassle of a broken unit in hot, humid weather. Then, load the family in the car and enjoy some great events close to home:

  • Africa & Dinosaurs (May 25 – September 2) — You’ll love these dual exhibits at the Minnesota Zoo, back by popular demand. Take a safari into the heart of the African savannah, complete with giraffes (you can hand-feed them), ostrich, bongos, wildebeest, addax and guinea fowl.  Then go back in time 65 million years, and hear the roar of dinosaurs with 20 larger-than-life animatronic creatures, featuring the ever popular Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus and many more.
  • Music and Movies in the Park (May 27-September 2) – Throughout the summer, Minneapolis parks will be showcasing various music performances and movie showings throughout the week and on weekends. Bring the family and some popcorn to enjoy some free entertainment!
  • Mormon Tabernacle Choir (June 20) — For the first time in 20 years this world-famous choir visits Minneapolis on its final midwest stop!  The music created by the 300 members and 30 piece orchestra will cover a broad range of selections from Bach to Broadway.
  • Minneapolis Aquatennial – (July 12-20) – In its 74th year, the Minneapolis Aquatennial includes a week of family-friendly festivities sure to entertain! From the milk carton boat races to the Target Fireworks, you’ll find a little fun for everyone in your group.

These are just some of the activities happening across the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this summer. Whatever you choose for your staycation itinerary, you’ll no doubt be happy to come home to a cool Minneapolis home without air conditioning problems.

Enjoy the summer and follow our blog for helpful cooling and heating tips!
